I am 48 years old, straight, easy going and loves to laugh. I am looking for a female travel buddie who is friendly and easy going. I am looking to visit Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and other places. I live on the east coast. If interested drop me a line and let's talk.

Though I am unable to plan any specific trips, if you go through Barcelona I would love to get together for coffee and some sightseeing. And you can pick my brain about the rest of Spain.

Lois, you might want to check out Virtualtourist.com. There are members there who live in all the places you are visiting and are often interested in meeting like minded travelers, and maybe showing them around their hometown.

Perhaps this isnt the right forum for asking for a travel buddy, but in reality, this is still a travel buddy and people discuss meeting up all the time. Perhaps the OP figured that since there are such "good" people on this board who are traveling, that perhaps she would be able to meet one.

Or perhaps Fodors can do like other sites and create a separate forum for travel buddies.

LoisP--- Don't let some negative comments by a select view give you a bad idea of the forum. I say take the info you need, and if others choose to berate you for posting something they would not, then just ignore them. Life is too short.
