Feedback on this Rome apartment?

We are thinking of renting the colloseum view 2 apartment for 180EU/night in October from Dolce Roma.

http://www.dolceroma.it/colosseum2.htm

Any feedback (quality, location, comfort) on this apartment or suggestions of another (for a family of 4)?

Thanks, Claudia

There is at least one review of Colosseum 2 and a number of reviews of other Dolce Roma properties at www.slowtrav.com. (Go to Italy, then to Rental Reviews, then to Rome.)

Thanks. I saw that review and it was helpful. I was interested on others' views of Colloseum location or suggestions of alternative locations/apartments.

Thanks, Claudia

hi Cheryl- was wondering what did you decide on for this apartment? I was looking at it also..did you get any more info? MJo

Personally, I would prefer to be closer to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori area. Have you looked at the Sleep in Italy website? Price may be your real key because the larger apartments that you'll be needing may be cheaper out by the Colosseum.

sandi_travelnut- Would you prefer to be in the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori area because of convenience, charm, restaurants...would love to hear your comments. I am deciding between an apartment in Navona area that is $1100. more than one in Colosseum area. I am wondering if it will be money well spent to stay in the
Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori area?

I was going to say that the Colosseam is not a central area...but for $1100, I might be tempted to take cabs everywhere...it would be difficult to spend more than $30 a day on cabs...over a week, that would be $210 vs. $1100.

I was also going to say that I would prefer Piazza Navona to the Colosseum, but for $1100, I can understand your wanting the Colosseum one. You can also take Bus 75 from the Colosseum to Piazza Navona (Corso d. Rinascimento stop)

Hi, Cheryl, we stayed in this area last easter and really enjoyed it. i't s very "roman" the restaurants are great, you can easily reach the rest of the city, and you are right by the the coloseum and forum, with a very small distance to the capitoline hill. Also there are lots of interesting shops and workshops to look at, local bars and cafes, and good shopping up on the via nazionale.

good luck!

Are you a walking family? I would not want to stay in an area if I was forced to get into a cab to go anywhere. I can understand how expensive it is to bring your family to Italy so if cost is your main concern then go for it. You don't mention how old the kids are but my vote would be on location as well.
