February weather london

Planning Valentines week in London in 2002. Anyone have knowledge of the weather in London and surrounding areas? Thanks

Five February visits in the last six years: 2 years: cold and rainy 1 year: sunny and in the sixties 2 years: cold and sunny

Hi I've seen sunny and cold in February/March. sunny is the operative word - cold is no big deal. Beth

end of Feb-beginning of March a couple of years ago: temps in the upper 50s to 60 degrees F, drizzle only one day, mostly sunshine, daffodils blooming. for historical weather data, take a look at wunderground.com or washingtonpost.com/weather

Jerry, For the record, average Feb. temps in London are: 44 degrees (high)/36 degrees (low). So we aren't talking frigid, but add some precipitation and wind and it can feel quite chilly. But those are just averages, you could get much nicer weather. At any rate, London has so much to see and do, lots of which is indoors, that February is an OK time to visit. I live in London and HATE february... I hate January too but by February I am almost literally climbing the trees (and would be if I actually had any sense of hand eye leg coordination). The temperatures can be OK but even if it isnt raining it is often overcast and it gets dark sooooooo early.... Mind you... I guess from a visitors perspective it might be less crowded... That would be because other tourists avoid it and also because I think some of us try and bugger off somewhere else in the world also... YUCK YUCK YUCK Even in today's heatwave weather thinking of February is making me feel cold and miserable. I should add in fairness though that I suffer from SAD and the lack of sufficient natural daylight makes me crazy. OK OK CrazIER. Thankyou. Rant over.
