February Road Trip - Better from Paris, Madrid or Barcelona
 

Feb 19-25 planning to fly to either Paris, Madrid or Barcelona and do a 6 day road trip. I've seen all three cities in the past but never drove around the country. I've always wanted to see Provence but not so sure how nice it is in Winter. I'm leaning towards Spain because I speak a little Spanish but no French. I also expect Spain is a bit cheaper and a bit warmer. Any route recommendations based on expected weather, places to see, etc. I need to pickup and drop off in same place to avoid high drop off fees.

Sorry I can't answer your main question, but I would note that in both Spain and France, I've picked up cars in one location and dropped them off in another in the same country with no extra drop-off fee. Maybe things have changed?

As for location, have you checked wunderground.com and timeanddate.com for climate statistics? That might help you narrow things down....

I meant dropping off in a a different country incurs fees.

My intuition tells me that southern Spain will offer the best weather, so I've booked Madrid.
