FCO-Termini-Florence with eurail pass - need reservations or just get on the train?

Just read the thread with all sorts of good details on getting from FCO to Termini - thank you all. I have a related question: We are doing the same, FCO to Termini to Florence by train. We have Eurail passes (1st class) - do I need to do anything w/ tickets or reservations or can we just "get on" the trains? If we want reserved seats, can we get those at FCO?

I'm not sure if your pass covers the Leonardo Express to Termini.

I suspect you will have to reserve a seat if you will be taking an ES train to Florence, since all seats are reserved. If you plan to take an IC to Florence, I believe you can just get on a train and look for an unreserved seat in first class.

You can do any tickets/reservations at FCO or Termini, probably more easily at FCO.

Hi sammie,

Your railpass covers the LDV express to Roma TE.

You must have your pass validated at the FCO station before you take the train.

You can take any IC train (not sure about IC+ trains), but you must have a reservation (about 10E extra) for an ES*.

You can buy the reservation at the FCO or TE stations.
