FCO (Rome) Hotel or alternative

My daughter's return flight from FCO is early Saturday morning. She will travel from Siena to Rome by bus Friday afternoon/evening. I think I've read the area around the Siena bus station can be questionable, but don't really know if that is true. Any advice on a place (hotel, B&B, inn, etc) for her to stay so she can have a safe and fairly easy time getting to the airport? She will be travelling alone and has a fairly big bag plus laptop, etc. to lug around. Thanks.

There is a Hilton at FCO that is connected to the airport. It is fairly pricy though. We always stay in Rome and take a cab at 4am or whenever we need to to arrive on time for a flight. The airport is not too busy that time of day.

HI O,

I would pick any reasonable hotel in Rome that is within her budget and have the hotel arrange for a cab or shuttle van.

I suspect the bus station concerns were for Rome. I think the Siena bus arrives a Rome Tiburtina, which some find 'questionable.'

Indeed the FCO Hilton, right near the terminal, within walking distance really, is very expensive. But there is a new Hilton hotel at the airport, further away and not within walking distance, called Hilton Garden Inn. They have a free shuttle to the airport terminal and are a brand new hotel. We stayed there several months ago and were very pleased. I think we paid about 139 Euros a night, no breakfast. Convenient and very modern.

What Ira said.

i also was traveling alone and stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott at FCO. Nice, convenient, and has a shuttle (hourly?, half-hourly?) that drove me the 2 or 3 minutes to the airport. piece of cake.

mjh123/Flame123 Are the Hilton Garden Inn or Marriott Courtyard easy to get to from the Sena bus station where she would come in from Siena? How would she get to these hotels that away from the actual airport a bit. Thanks.
