FCO > FRA; need a little info
Hi
I am doing some planning for our 6:45 am flight from Rome to Frankfurt. I have departed Rome for the US several times, and have flown MXP>FRA, but not this route.
So, I know there are long lines for the international flights, and about being there two hours early. But 4:45 for an inter Europe flight?
This is Lufthansa. DO we (US citizens) really need to be at FCO two hours early for this flight?
Thanks.

I wouldn't risk it...they advise always two hours for intra European flights. Many times you have time to spare, but others...you have to rush to the boarding gate, it all depends on how crowded is at security.

I told Rome Cabs what time my flight was and they told me when they'd pick me up..I was off via Cavour between the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. I confirmed with my hotel staff that that was reasonable, and they thought it was still too early! It was a lightning fast ride, buckle your seat belt.
I can't say for sure, but by virtue of the fact of almost no lines anywhere else in that terminal, I think the airport might actually open at 5:00, so getting there earlier might not help you.

Yes, that it kind of what I was thinking. This has to be among the first flights of the day, so it can't be too too crowded.
If they suggest 4:30, that is fine with me. I was thinking 4:15, so the extra 15 minutes are thrilling.

No, the airport won't be too crowded..but then it is possible (it happens here in Spain) that it is not working at full ..so probably there will be only one desk for the check in, only one security point opened..that's what I meant.
