FC Barcelona stadium tour?
Our kids want to tour the FC Barcelona stadium while we're there in June. Some guidebooks recommend purchasing tix ahead, others don't.
Anyone who's been have an opinion? Thanks. |
We took a cab up to the stadium, but didn't book ahead. We walked straight to the ticket office and bought tickets and wandered through.
From the outside, the stadium is nothing special and once in you only get access to the main stand (not the playing surface) and you come in at one end and out the other via the dressing rooms. Is it worth it? If you're a football fan then probably, but Manchester United's stadium is more impressive both from the outside and inside. BTW, the changing rooms are not as plush as you'd expect. Barcelona's trophy room is impressive however and they route you out through the gift shop--of course! |
What I think is worth it and what my kids, all soccer players who love Messi, think is worth it are two entirely different things. We have toured Stamford Bridge because they love Chelsea, so that was cool. I think they just want to say they were there.
Rubicund, what time of year were you there? I'm wondering if it's more crowded in summer. We'll be there in June. I can purchase ahead but am not sure exactly what day we'll want to go. Thanks. |
ksbeem, we were there in July which is off season for football, but high season for tourists, so make of that what you will.

OK, thanks for the tips.
