favorite websites for restaurant reviews
Hello, Fodorites. Just looking for opinions, here. Do you have any websites that you find really useful for getting restaurant suggestions in a town or city you are not familiar with?
I like to find places at the intersection of high quality and low price.
I've got this posted under Europe because the trip I am planning is to Italy, but I am really interested in this topic in a more general sense as well.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Cocofromdijon, Cityvox looks exactly like what I am looking for. I can look in a particular area, define a price range, and the look for the establishments sorted by the ratings of people who have been there. Unfortunately, for the first few I looked at there were 0 or 1 ratings, not enough to feel confident that it was a faie evaluation. But I only looked at a few--I'll go back and play with it some more--there is a ton of information there.
Maribel and Massagediva, egullet and chowhound are interesting sites. Lots to browse through, thanks. Massagediva, I searched on "chowhounds" and found a site for dog owners, huh? I found the site you meant when I changed it to the singular, "chowhound". lol
I have never used Zagat's. Looks like you have to subscribe to get the info so I probably won's start, but thanks.

Scarlett,
Thanks so much for pointing that out! I had almost given up on Chowhound. When I would go to the "international board", which included half the world, it would take me forever and a day to scroll down to what I wanted and to follow the thread. Much better!

Thank you, flatfeet, great site, very easy to use. Too bad it's only NYC but I'll save it for my visits to that great city. One thing, and maybe I need to look around more in there, I did a search on Italian restaurants in the Village and sorted it by rating and it looked like the lowest rating was for three stars...hmmmm
