Rachael
We enjoyed walking the Temple Bar area. The day of our flight out of Dublin we spent the morning by driving out to Howth. We drove right on the beach. It is a pleasent little town.

Rachael:

I also l like the Temple Bar area. In particular, I like a restaurant/pub called the Oliver St. John Gogarty's (spelling?). The lower floor is a pub, the second floor has live traditional music, and the third floor is a nice restaurant. I met a lot of fun and interesting people while listening to traditional irish music and highly recommend it. The food in the restaurant is also very good. Another great pub in Temple Bar is called The Temple Bar. The area is packed with tourists, but it is fun at the same time.

In my two days there last August, I spent my evenings in Temple Bar and by day saw the following "don't miss" attractions: St. Patrick's Cathedral, Christ Church Cathedral, the Guinness Brewery, and Dublin Castle.

You won't have much time to rest, but that can wait until you return home!

Have fun,
Dave

Hi,

I love Dublin as well. I will warn you NOT to drive in Dublin as there is an extraordinarily high amount of construction occurring so traffic is horrendous. Also most streets in the center are one-way and I could see where I wanted to go but trying to get there was another story.

That said....
Hotel: Love Kilronan House (Adelaide Street). Have stayed there twice and Terry, the owner, is a great host. I also like its location (near Stephen's Green but on a quiet street).

Things to See and Do:
Visit Stephen's Green, Trinity College & Book of Kells, Dublin's Writer's Museum, Temple Bar, Guinness Brewery (I found the Hop On & Off buses the best for touring).

Have a great time!
