Favorite restaurants in Milan
We will have two dinners and two lunches in Milan.
We'd like to spend one dinner in the Brera neighborhood. I appreciate any suggestions!! thank you, dina |
I'm hoping someone out there has a recommendation or two!
Thanks! |
When DH and I were there in 2006, we spent many fun evenings at El Beverin, which is on the main drag in Brera (can't recall the street name offhand). We usually did not have any appetite for dinner, though, because they had an extensive appetizer bar during happy hour. They don't start serving dinner until 9:00, so by then we were no longer hungry. The staff were very pleasant (a few spoke English)and we felt like old friends by about mid-week.
There are many restaurants in Brera, however, and you won't have any trouble finding a good one just wandering down the street. |

Hi dina,
I will be in Milan (overnight) next week, and thanks to ekscrunchy's NYT article link, I think we will have dinner at either Antica Trattoria della Pesa or Trattoria Milanese. I'll let you know how it goes. I think from your other posts, you're going in June, right? Johanna |
Ekscrunchy -- thanks so much for the article! It has a LOT of info.!
Gracie -- I would LOVE it if you report back!! Yes, we are going in late June. Milan is not as heavily covered on this board as other places in Italy. I hope you have a great trip!! Thanks! dina |
sorry, johanna. i thought your name was grace at first!!

Hi dina,
No problem! Gracie is actually my Golden Retriever. She was asleep on my feet the day I was trying to come up with a screen name! You're right, Milan isn't as covered here as a lot of other places. We arrive in the morning and leave the next day for Bellagio, so we need a place for lunch and dinner. Plus, it will be our "jet lag day", so I wanted to have some places in mind already. Ekscrunchy's article was a big help. Johanna |
