Favorite Quick Serve Munich Dining
First timer to Europe - we will be spending a few days in Munich with my son and his family
(3 kids under 5!) so hoping for some decent restaurant suggestions that we could try that are decent and quick-ish:-) Is that even a thing? I'm getting the impression that Europeans enjoy their meals at leisure, which is probably not a luxury we can afford. ALSO, husband and I will do a couple days there on our own, so if you have places he and I should try, I'd be grateful. Thank you so much for your help. I am grateful! Tammy |
Haufbrauhaus or any beer garden or beer hall - downhome German food in a convivial atmosphere.

As Pal wrote.. the typical beer halls and gardens will be pretty quick in getting the stuff done.
Also for lunch, most restaurants have lunch specials - usually an extra page in the menu - which are not only usually cheaper than "a la carte" dishes but also quicker. Those who don't have company restaurants or cafeterias do not calculate more than 45-60 minutes for a sit-down lunch break at a restaurant. In addition, there are tons of "eatery"-style restaurants like Vapiano.. mostly in the fashion of fastfood restaurants, i.e. you order and pay first and either wait for the stuff being prepared or get it brought to your table. |
do department stores still have cafeterias and restaurants- always were modestly priced?

Do you and your husband like Indian food? If so, I have a good suggestion - let me know if you're interested and I'll post the details.

Yes lots of Italian places and always marveled at the 'spaghetti ijs' - soft ice cream that looked like spaghetti!

and you'd get it at (Italian) ice cream parlours, not necessarily each and every Italian restaurant. |
Thank you all so much.
Melnq8, we don't love Indian food, but thanks for the idea! You guys are just so wonderfully full of information. I'd be wandering around lost in the www trying to find things for hours! Danke:-) |
Hi tamtot,
When I was in Munich for two weeks for a German language course, I happened to stumble upon Ringlers Grill -- I found it by the line of people waiting in line out the door. It is located at Sendlingerstr. 44, just a couple of blocks into the city from Sendlinger Tor. Yes, it is fast food -- there are a few tables -- but most folks order and get their sandwich for take-away. And it is seriously delicious. I usually got the vegetarian grill sandwich. Ringlers Grill - München Have fun as you plan! s |
Thank you! Putting it on my list!

We enjoyed Zum Augustiner when we were there last year. There were families with children there and the food was good and service was quick.

Thank you so much!
