Favorite Provence Stay
What was the best hotel, B&B that you've stayed at in the Provence area and why was it the best place.

I've only stayed in Provence one time so I've nothing to compare it to but we just returned from Provence and we rented "La Fortresse" in the perched village of Menerbes. It was delightful! We felt as though we had the whole end of the village to ourselves most of the time. It had views out the windows and off the terrace that were dreamy to wake up to as well as end our day with. Each day we leisurely awoke, picked up pastries from the bakery and brewed our own coffee then drove to explore 2-3 other villages in Provence. There are a couple of very nice restaurants in the village should you want to eat out but often we bought food from Market Days and returned home to cook our own meals. If you want "nightlife" then this isn't the place but it is a little piece of heaven.

Avignon Grand (or Grand Avignon, don't remember exactly). Very good location, just outside the city walls, very clean and nice inside, decorated in Provencial style (outside is stark), responsive staff, nice restaurant. It was also very close to a tourist office, which was very convenient. We booked some tours there. The price is not bad either.

Too many to list but the most unique was at a Goat farm. The goats would jump on the tables if you'd let them. The cheese that was made is sold to all the better restaurants in the area. An enchanting place.

PBProvence's B&B in Maussane, but she's no longer in the business.

Ours would be the wonderfully luxurious, classy B&B near Grasse that we stayed in last fall. Alas, the owners have sold up and returned to the Paris region.
