Really like Amorino also... but Berthillon has very yummy flavors too, if you don't mind waiting in line.

Berthillon in the Ile de la Cite area was right next to our hotel! They had cute cones with two cups for the boules in the one cone. I second the vote for the salted caramel...can taste it right now.

My wife and I just got back this afternoon from 8 days in Paris. (Trip report to come.)

Got ice cream at Amorino's (the one on R. Vielles du Temple) five times!

Among the flavors we ate: Ecuador Chocolate, fragola (strawberry), coconut, lampone (raspberry), amarena (cherry), vanilla.

Love Amorino!

Anything at Berthillon, but if you're going in the height of summer, try the cafe caddy corner from the actual Berthillon...less crowded and more relaxed..It is just amazing ice cream...

Oh my goodness, you guys! I have so much eating to do while I'm in Paris already, and now I have a nice big list of ice cream places to try, too. I could make a whole schedule up of just eating.

I think I'm going to need bigger pants.

AHIDDENBIRD,

Ice cream in Paris? I only had one, but I won't forget it. I was on the Île de la Cité very near to Notre Dame Cathedral. I ordered an ice cream cone (forget which flavor) for €3.50.

I could not believe how small it was! No bigger than a golf ball I swear. But then I looked around at many svelte Parisians and decided not to complain.

latedaytraveler: It sounds like you went to that Berthillon place so many have mentioned!

Was it at least tasty?

I have only been to Berthillon and see I am going to have to have a comparison test, purely for research purposes, with Amorino, Grom and Berthillon in September. The sacrifices one must make for the advancement of knowledge!

KTtravel; what are the odds? I'm planning on conducting the same research while I'm in Paris...I guess, the more data, the better. Am I right? lol
