I have another blog that is written by an American, female horse trainer with her stable at the racecourse at Maisons Lafitte. Maisons Lafitte is a very nice town with a chateau of the same name a short train ride from Paris. The race track is a pleasant half day trip with a nice stroll from the train station. Thanks all. This is great. It's so interesting to have so many new sites to explore. Some I have seen before but there are a number I haven't seen before.

Most bloggers have a list of blogs they follow or by their friends. That is another way to expand your sites.

Check out http://www.parisiensalon.com/ . It's a great "magazine-style" website that even lets you create a user suitcase and search restaurants, shops, and things to do in Paris. They cover everything from style to food to entertainment.

You people are excessively kind, but I will say that I have some off-the-beaten-track subjects coming up that will make things like "La Mouzaïa" seem tawdry and overly mundane.

But to address the original question, I will say that I understand the passion that a lot of people have for Paris and how much they want to share it, but I myself am often dismayed by how much the same material is recycled again and again -- "the best pastry" "the best hot chocolate" "the best shopping street" "the most romantic restaurant" -- ad infinitum. Yes, people do want to be guided to the most worthwhile things to do, but 98% of those things are already in the most popular guidebooks.

I try to find things that people might never see, and I wish that more of these Paris blogs would do that same. I almost vomited when I saw a mention of "the secret covered passages of Paris" when the covered passages are one of the most well known things for anybody who has been to Paris and seen more than just the monuments and museums.

I could easily start ranting about some of this stuff, so better that I stop now. :-/

You see, that's the thing....Some of us think were getting some kind of inside information when in fact as kerouac some of the stuff is recycled again and again and some of the stuff I have found is years old. And restaurant reviews of places that are closed, changed hands or have been trampled by Rick Stevens (?) crowd.

I'd love to find some new info. So I guess I'll just keep searching......However, by no means am I not Thankful for all the input from many people here on Fodors.
