Favorite outdoor restaurants in hill towns of Tuscany?
This should be fun: what are your favorite hill town restaurants to linger at for lunch, with outdoor seating, a view , good food - and not too expensive?
We'll be staying in Volterra and Montepulciano so possibly exploring San Gimignano, Montalcino, Pienza, and other recommendations! Thanks! |
We are further north than you but going from the North to the South
We are foodies and this is our favorite way to eat. What they cost will depend on how much wine you drink and how many courses you order. Starting to the north: Ristro di Lamole in the town of Lamole Vescovino in Panzano La Bottega in Volpia Villa di Sotto in Villa Sestra La Porta in Montichiello (you have to book the patio) There are also many many wonderful little places along the way and if you are here in the summer then they all have outdoor seating. |
Trattoria Il Leccio in the hamlet of Sant’Angelo in Colle near Montalcino. We stopped there for a leisurely lunch before going to Sant Antimo for the chants.

Conte Mateo in Trequanda. Beautiful outdoor terrace, delicious food.

We'll be traveling in mid May, so hopefully outdoor seating will be open. This is a first for me, so I appreciate your recommendations!
