Favorite hotels Madrid and Sevilla
We will be traveling in Spain mid May and need suggestions for nice boutique type hotels in Madrid and Sevilla. We are not into high tech large modern hotels, but want clean with good service.

Hotel Amadeus in Sevilla is very nice. Consult www.maribelsguides.com for more info on Madrid and Seville. Good luck.

In Sevilla we enjoyed the Taberna del Alabardero. It has only 7 rooms on the top floor and on the second floor has a great restaurant by the same name.
In Madrid we like the rVilla Real, its located behind the Palce hotel really close to Preado and Thyssen museums |
Another vote for the Villa Real in Madrid. A lovely, small, well located hotel. In Seville, I enjoyed the atmosphere and location of Las Casas de la Juderia, however, I recall the room as somewhat average.

Also mentioned in Maribel's guides is the Hotel Alcantra in Seville. It's located in the Barrio Santa Cruz close to the cathedral; great place, modernized and comfortable with everything you could need. We enjoyed the city a lot.

We liked the medium sized HHCampomanes in Madrid. Clean and comfortable with very helpful front desk personnel

We love the Hotel Amadeus in Seville. It is relatively small - under 20 rooms - with lovely rooms and pretty linens. There is classical music in the rooms and, occasionally, a live musical performance in the lobby. There is a wonderful roof deck for breakfast or a glass of wine and views all over the city.

Las Casas de la Juderia in Seville.
Since the hotel is an amalgamation of palaces connected by fountains and gardens, the rooms are very different from building to building. Maribel mentions rooms 29 and 30. By accident we had #30. Looks like a suite. Walkin closet, etc. I think 29 has a terrace. Excellent location. |
