Favorite hotel in the St Germain de Pres area?

Hello!
I'm also looking to book a hotel in Florence and Rome. My limit is $250 US a night and I would like to be somewhat close to the metro etc to see the big sights. Any suggestions would be lovely.

Thanks!

I am very partial to the Millesime Hotel on Rue Jacob in the 6th. Your budget should get you a very good room there.

There are a number of nice hotels in the 6th, but the cost will depend on when you are planning on being there.

The Hotel des Deux Continents, 25, rue Jacob, with 41 rooms, would fit your budget, as should the Hotel le Regent (25 rooms) at 61, rue Dauphine. The Hotel des Marronniers (37 rooms), 21, rue Jacob is worth considering, as is the Hotel Sèvres Saint Germain (30 rooms), 22, rue Saint Placide.

Hi 10,

We always stay at the Hotel Bonaparte, 61 Rue Bonaparte in the 6th. From 124E dbl w/bkfst. It is located near 3 metro stops. Has AC

Don't know about the budget but the Hotel Villa Saint Germain was damn fine ! Great position, just across the road from Laduree! Larger than your average Paris room !

We have enjoyed stays at the Hotel du Danube at 58 rue Jacob (no AC though). As you see from these posts, rue Jacob has several contenders. It is a great location in the 6th.

In 2001, we stayed at the Hotel Vieux Paris in the St. Germaine section. Great location. Near main metro stop. Some of the rates will work for your budget.

I'm also very partial to rue Jacob. We've stayed at the Millesime, des Marronniers, Angleterre and Danube, all on rue Jacob.I'd stay at any of them again in a heartbeat, in fact in 2 weeks we'll be at the Danube for our 10th stay!Be aware however the Danube is NOT air conditioned, whicjh doesn't matter to us as we travel Oct-Apr.

Another very nice hotel is just around the corner on rue de Verneuil, the Verneuil. The only objection I had to it was the size of the rooms.

The Lenox , on rue d'Universite ( rue jacob's name changes here) also looks very nice and I think it is in your price range.

Hotel St. Thomas D'Aquin: lovely, quiet, perfectly located, quite a bit under your budget...

Recently stayed at the Lenox referenced here and it was very nice, pleasant, clean, comfy, etc. with just the right amount of cache.

Try the K K Cayre. You will not be disappointed. Wonderful breakfast, great rooms, many with views. Service is great and the metro is just across the street.
