Because it took me so long to find it, and because when I did I was the only one in the tiny piazza where it is located, it is the little turtle fountain in the Jewish Ghetto. Very sweet, very serene - I will always go back here whenever in Roma.

Barb, will we have to travel with you to see it or will you tell us its exact location?

ChatNoir: Ha, well I hope I can find it again myself. I know it is one street over from the main street going through the Ghetto (parallel to the river) and very near where the ruins are. I found it through Rick Steve's book. I will not rest until I find it again and this time I will make sure to remember how to get there. Anyone else have better directions?

One of my favorites is the cute little Fontana delle Tartarughe ("Tartarughe" being Italian for "a floor covering made of that nasty stuff the dental hygienist scrapes from your teeth").

OK, I lied. It actually means Tortoises.

The tortoises are the Fontana delle Tartarughe in the Piazza Mattei. It's a few blocks south of Largo Argentina. Go south on the street to the east of the sunken ruins, cross the via delle Botteghe Oscure, and it's one block to the south.
