Just FYI, Florence isn't very big. Unless you have mobility problems, nearly every restaurant is within walking distance of the Duomo.

We're not foodies and find it hard to have a bad meal in Florence, but two we tried on our last visit were standouts: Ricettario and Brandolino. There were on a Tripadvisor list which I found helpful for reviews.

Two more daily/casual dining spots we've been to multiple times: Il Paiolo, Zio Gigi... love the owners of both.

We were very pleased with Osteria Pastella on our last visit (2019). Relaxed but efficient service, great food and a mostly local crowd. Tucked away in a location close to the train station.

And while in Firenze, do not miss the exquisite sandwiches at All'Anitco Vinaio on via de Neri - there's a good reason why there are always lines and they have opened a second location across the street from the original.

Following along because we will be in Florence in October!

On my list is:

Mercato Centrale
Osteria Santo Spirito
I Due Fratellini Sandwich Shop
La Ménagère
Santo Bevitore Ristorante
Enoteca il Santino Gastronomia

I haven't been to any them; but am starting to research!

Cinghiale Bianco is one of our favs. The wild boar ragout with pappardelle is excellent and a perfect autumn dish.

Del Fagioli, on Corso dei Tintori just near the church of Santa Croce, is excellent. If you go, try the polpette (meatballs), which they prepare in two ways--in white wine and with tomatoes. Tasty, unpretentious, local cooking in a casual setting.
