favorite budget rome apartment

....for two people. Have you stayed in one you'd recommend? Our dream is a small, clean, sunny apartment with additional with a balcony for an evening glass of chianti. Does such a think exist?

PS. We've checked out Slowtravelers

I have not stayed here, but I have had good personal experience with the company.

From http://www.domani-usa.com/rome/romeapts/vatican/portacastello/index.htm

Via di Porta Castello is a studio apartment on the fifth floor, with an elevator. It sleeps 2 persons. The apartment consists of a large room with a sleeping area that has a queen sized bed and a wardrobe. The living area has 2 sofas and a small library. The kitchenette is fully equipped and the bathroom has a shower and bathtub. The studio has a unique terrace on two levels connected with winding stairs. The first level is decorated with climbing plants, pots, roses, flowering bushes and a table to dine al fresco. On the second level you can enjoy a complete view of St. Peter’s / the Vatican, Castel Sant' Angelo and a panaromic view of the city of Rome.

And if this does not suit you (particularly location, for example), then I would encourage you to write or call Larry Haase directly and ask if he can help you find what you are seeking.

Best wishes,

Rex
