Ooh, somebody mentioned Durham. I really liked it -- or what I saw of it. Also the usual: Bath, York, Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh. Liked Salisbury too. Of course, I can only speak as a tourist seeing the highlights.

I'm not a city person, but I love Edinburgh, and I can thole Glasgow. York has its good points. Ask me about wee towns or villages, and I could do you a better list; but I love the idea of Kyle being elevated to that status!
