Favorite Beach

What is your favorite beach in France? My friends and I would like to visit one (for some reason they keep pushing Biarritz) and there are so many to choose from. Any recommendations?

Villefranche sur-mer is beautiful. Then again, so is the whole riviera. . .

Le Lavandou.

I've never heard of le Lavandou. What makes it different from the others?

Underhill-
Where is Le Lavandou?

LaClaire-
I've seen a lot of raving for Villefranche sur-mer! Is the beach sandy? Please tell me why you love it!

Thanks,
Dina

Dina- I actually spent time on a private beach (a friend's), though I saw the public ones. They are not sandy like you think of Jamaica or Aruba (where there is a ton of sand and they are wide enough for your feet to burn getting from the edge to the water). The sand is white and grainy (not powder soft), and the water is blue like a beautiful fish. After seeing the houses there, you might as well just gauge your eyes out. Well, after you see the views they have. . .

Our family loved the beach in Menton, France near the Italian border(okay-except for the overweight Russian lady in just her pink bra and underwear??)
