fastest hydrofoil from Piraeus to Mykonos

Hi,
Does anyone know the quickest boat I can take from Piraeus to Mykonos? I thought it would only take 3 hours, but everything I see looks like 4 hours. Thanks.

That's as fast as it gets from Piraeus, but you can get there in as little as 2 hours on a highspeed ferry from the port of Rafina. http://www.openseas.gr/OPENSEAS/index_en.vm

There are no hydrofoils to Mykonos. Catamarans run from Rafina, only conventional ferries from Piraeus. The fastest (and most unreliable) is SeaJet 2. :-)

And Rafina is about an hour away by bus?
Also, can I take the metro from the airport? Or is it under construction? I would be staying in central Athens.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Yes, Rafina is about 1-1½ hrs away from central Athens by bus. If you are taking one of the early morning ferries, you will need to leave Athens as early as possible, to give you enough time to get from bus to ferry. The bus stops near the docks, though, so it will take only a few minutes. Here is the Athens-Rafina bus schedule: http://www.ktelattikis.gr/routes.php

Since you are staying in central Athens, let me make a suggestion: forget the fast ferries from Rafina, and take Blue Star Ithaki from Piraeus. It's only a 30 minute metro ride from central Athens, and the station is opposite the Blue Star docks. This ferry leaves at 07:35, and arrives on Mykonos at 12:50. You can sit on an outside deck to watch the scenery as the ship makes its way down the coast from Piraeus, and calls in at Syros and Tinos: http://www.bluestarferries.com/dromo...id=3&lineid=22

Yes, I agree with you and will leave out of Pireaus. It's closer and more convienent.
Do you not like Hellenic Seaways? That ferry takes 4 hours.
I was thinking about leaving on the morning ferry, and then coming back the next day on the pm ferry. Do you think that's enough time? I'm not trying to stay there too long.
Thanks alot.

Yes, I like Hellenic Seaways. The HS highspeed from Piraeus would be another alternative if it sails the day you are travelling, but you didn't give a date, so I only mentioned Blue Star.
