FASTEST/CHEAPEST WAY FROM ROMA TERMINI TO ST PETERS BASILLICA

as crazy as this sounds, my sister, mom, neice and myself are taking the train from florence for the day just to see the Pieta and the sistine chapel. Any advice on mode of transportation options?

Nothing crazy about it bogie, you just take the 90 minute train from Florence to Rome.

But I think you meant to post this on the Europe Forum versus the US Forum.

Fastest is a taxi - it'll run you about 15-20Euro.

To see St. Peter you have to pass through a security check, but even at the worst times the line moves quickly.

To see the Sistine Chapel you need to wait in line to purchase tickets to the Vatican Museum. The Sistine Chapel is at the far end of the museum.

The cheapest way from Termini would be a bus. I don't recall the numbers - perhaps the #40 express bus? It definitely won't be the fastest.

There is good metro service between Termini and the Vatican. Take the "A" line.

Due to traffic in Rome, neither a taxi nor a bus will be fast. Take the Metro.
