Laundry Industry do beautiful tailored trousers that end just at the knee. They have matching blazers as well, and come in white and denim. They look great with heels in the evening, or with flat sandals during day. Much more flattering than capris I think.

I actually think my legs are too long--I'm a shade under 5'7", but need a 33" or 34" inseam. But maybe my too-short pants that we called "highly waters" when I was growing up were really just "cropped".
But even with long legs, capris are not for me. I have pronounced hips and, ahem, Baby Got Some Back.
Which brings me to my2cents' question. I have recently fallen in love with pants from DKNY's City line, which seems to be designed with the booty in mind. Along the lines of what Marilyn advised, I've been buying their pants in just about every color and fabric.
I'm also a big fan of skirts, mostly knee length cotton (with a little lycra) a-lines. I also like linen skirts, but unless it's a tailored suit, I prefer my linen unlined. Someone (was it someone on this board?) recently recommended the web site overstock.com for discounted clothes. I didn't find much there that I appealed to me, but I did find a lovely unlined linen skirt, white embroidered with black, that I've just ordered.

Thanks, Elle -- I will also give a look-see to DKNY's City Line. I've always loved the look of their clothing but didn't know some of it might actually fit me! Someone else I know just also recommended the Apple Bottom clothing line, although they are targeted more towards "Juniors" (as opposed to "Misses" with ample bottoms. But I checked out their website and their stuff looks cute so I might give them a try too (although didn't see much in the way of dressier things -- mostly casual funky).

Dear TinGorjus,
Does one really need to point out that Jackie was thin and on holiday while wearing capris on Capri? It was just an example for those who did not know what capris are.
You had better send an urgent message to Paris as the "holiday loving" capris have invaded the city.

Alan, didn't you read what I wrote above?? Just because something is popular doesn't make it a good thing. Have you ever been to a mall in the US? Many of the women walk around in sweatpants and "hoodies." This look seems to be VERY popular, yet most of these women look like a walking jumble sale.
I can't remember who said it, but it was, "America has become a nation of people walking around in pajamas." Looks like it has spread to Paris, just like fast food and big bottoms.
