The "western theme" has popped up at recent trade shows in Germany and Switzerland...(Nov/Dec 04) complete with German and Swiss line dancing groups, and a "shoot out." So...the cowboy boots will fit right in! If they are comfortable, go for it. I am not particularly fond of them so will pass. I prefer my basic black low heeled shoes.

Friends from Italy were just here, and the wife suggested I bring a scarf to put around my neck when I come over to Orvieto next week. I shall take her suggestion and I already know how to tie it as has been described here. That's how I always tie my neck scarves anyway.

I am assuming things will be pretty crazy in Rome. I'm just glad we have our hotel reservations in Orvieto already secured at the Piccolomini. It is after the funeral, but I think Rome will still be busy, what with the nomination of the new Pope. Folks will be awaiting the big decision.
