Farmhouses or Apartments in Tuscany

We are going to Tuscany in the middle of Oct. and are looking for a place that has two bedrooms and two baths with kitchen. We don't want it to be too remote from a town but want the feeling of the countryside after being in Rome and Florence. We like to eat outside, sit outside and drink wine outside. I'm presuming the weather will be wonderful at this time. Can anyone shed light on a great place to stay? We want to do some day trips to Siena, Arrezo, Volterra, Piensa, Montepulciano...etc, etc. Thanks. J

Two bedrooms and two bathrooms would be unusual in the country unless it's a B&B with en suite bathrooms - for example http://www.firenze-florence.com/castelfidardo.htm For a longer list of possibilities convenient to the towns you want to visit, look at the Greve in Chianti web site http://www.greve-in-chianti.com April and October are the "rainy" months in Tuscany but there are always plenty of sunny days during those months.

Istamu: Do yourself a real favor and check out www.lafoce.com - It is a most wonderful property, with several types of accommodations - apartments and separate houses. I have stayed there three times, in different places each time - each has been wonderful.

The owners of the estate of many, many acres of country property, are Iris Origo's daughters, Benedetta and Donata. Benedetta is charming and friendly and her person-in-charge, Benedetta Isidori, is nothing but helpful.

they have several places with more than one bathroom. (we usually stayed in a four bedroom, four bathroom house.)

We have sent several friends who have also loved La Foce. It is near to Montepulciano and Pienza, and has gorgeous views south thru the Val d'Orcia.

Have a look. and have a wonderful trip.

Here's a few recommended to me, all from this forum. They are all in southern Tuscany in the Montalcino/Montepulciano area. Have a wonderful trip.
