Farm B&B near Fussen
Does any one have any recomendations for B&B on a farm (preferably)near Fussen. We would prefer on a farm, but just a regular family B&B would be fine. We would like it to be about 15-20 mins drive of the castles if possible. We would be going in late May and there would be 6 of us. Also any recomendations as where to eat in the area. We are all adults and older teens, so no McD's please.

The answer to all your questions:

Although it's almost an hour away, Frauendorfer's in Garmisch-Partenkirchen will give you a great taste of Bavarian food and entertainment. Or a cheaper alternative is a couple doors down the street:

The place you are looking for is Gasthaus zum Schluxen in Unter Pinswang, just on the Austrian side of the border. GzS is a farm with pet deer, cows and rabbits. You can hike from there to Neuschwanstein.

On the road to Schwangau on the outskirts of Hohenschwangau (the village where the castles are located) we had a wonderful meal at Alpenhotel Meier.

Don't know what the hotel itself is like (it looked nice), but we sure enjoyed that evening--even had a cowbell serenade as the local cows headed back to the barn.
5 minutes drive from the middle of the village--but way out of the tourist masses.

jo56, we are staying at the below B&B. Suzanne is the owner. I don't believe it's an actual 'farm' but it looks lovely and Suzanne has been great at responding to my emails. We aren't going until July so I'm not able to give you a detailed report. Good Luck!

I need a spell checker [email protected] I think it is 22E for extra people in the room. It is about 4 miles from Fussen. and in late May it should be drop dead gorgeous and as picturesque as a postcard.
