I believe there are some advance fares that are cheaper, and sometimes specials, just like air fares. You should check out the website for starters.

Eurostar fares, like most UK long-distance rail fares, are cheaper if you pay in advance and tie yourself down with conditions. Turning up on the day is just about the most expensive way to go.

There is a cheapfare 59 pounds return with some conditions.

You can buy a $90 round-trip in the US from RailEurope. There are no advance purchase requirements, just that you must travel (on any train) Monday thru Thursday. Seats are limited at this fare so buy now. This is a new fare as of July 2003, replacing a similar fare that required 90 days advance booking. the 59 pound fare in UK requires a Saturday night stay I believe.

If you do not purchase ahead for Eurostar you will pay the maximum. Since you are going next week it's a little late for advance planning now to insure the cheaper fares.
