yeadonite,

I love that Place de Vosges apartment and it is on my list. We stayed in their Palais Royal 3-bedroom a few years ago. The apartment was better than the photos and had everything we needed, including a computer. The owners were very nice to deal with and provided us with loads of information.

I also wouldn't hesitate to stay at a Paris Best Lodge apartment. They get good reviews here and elsewhere.

CW where else can I see reviews? I would like to stay at Place de Vosges I am trying to see how close it is to stores so that if my Dad doesnt feel up to it he can go get a quick bite! I am trying not to worry about the cost even though it is very pricey.

yes, the computer is a good idea for American shows, that's what I did when I rented an apt last year that didn't even get English language channels. So if your uncle wants to watch much, he will get really sick of CNN, I can tell you that. There are lots of shows you can watch now by computer. Also, there are some small DVD players now.

The only place I've seen apt reviews is on www.slowtrav.com and I think maybe there are some on Tripadvisor, but I'm not sure. The only other places I've seen them is on the rental website itself, but I wouldn't trust that as they aren't going to post any negative ones.

I think the comment about Paris Best Lodge getting good reviews may just mean comments by people on here that they rented from them and liked it.

Yeadonite,

Paris best lodge has gotten good reviews here and on tripadvisor. Because of reading their reviews, I did inquire about an apartment two years ago. It wasn't available for our time, but Thierry responded very quickly and offered other apartments that were available.

The Place des Vosges has as arcade that has a lot of galleries and a cafe that is often mentioned--Cafe Hugo. I'm sure there are others as well.

Other posters could give you more up-to-date information on what is available there.

The place des Vosages is 3000 for the week, pretty steep. I need to weigh everything!!
