Famousuncleart and I need a hotel or Aprtment in Paris
 

I am thinking of taking him on our annual trip. I cant find any good old posts on hotels that would work for us:
need an elevator, TV maybe american stations, wifi access and centrally located.
Preferably a hotel that has a suite type arrangement. Apartments are fine if there is a help contact available.

The Bonaparte is centrally located, has an elevator and AC.
It is very near 2 metro stops and 3 bus stops.

They have double rooms (no 23 is one) off a short corridor that are adjacent to a twin room, if this will help you with the suite arrangement.

Although finances are really tight, I am more interested in finding a good place to stay. Anything over $300 would be prohibitive.

I definitely want an apartment I am looking for November. I need
• It to be close to the metro or boss since Art is no longer the best walker.
• TV with American channels
• Elevator/lift
• Stores nearby incase Art cant walk he can go get some treats.

We have rented from ParisBestLodge twice and just reserved again for next year. Thierry is very easy to deal with, very prompt at returning e-mails and has an easy booking system.

His apartments are always spotless and well located and most have computer or internet access, washer/dryers, and some even have air conditioning.

I have rented studios twice - both times from beau-paris.com - they are a group of individuals owners. This time I am looking at a studio on vrbo but if that doesn't work out I think I will try centreparis.com which has been recommended here and on other sites and seems quite inexpensive - maybe 60€ or so a night. I don't want to spend more than 70€. With the price of the fare and the euro exchange rate I want to try to keep expenses down. ;-)

Thanks Mara - Since my Dad is 82 I figure he deserves a splurge. Once there I will eat cheap and not spend much money.

Have you thought about Priceline? If I didnt need an apartment I would do it.

FYI I don't think you'll get a TV with American channels. I have never seen that in France. If you are lucky, you may get one or two English-speaking channels, such as BBC or CNN international. The latter is not very good, they run the same few shows continuously for days. I really don't know what is wrong with CNN, they could easily show plenty of other things, but they don't. There is some English-language sports channel in France, also, I forget the name (eurosports or something). I have never seen any place with American channels in Paris, but if someone else has, I'd be interested in hearing what they are. Now there are some French channels that show old American TV shows dubbed into French, though.

ONe of those apts says "English channels" for the TV, for example, not "American".

yeadonite, no, I'm spoiled now - will always stay in an apartment unless it's a very short trip...
I agree with Christina - you won't get American channels - just BBC and CNNI - but if you have a computer you can watch tv shows online at hulu or something similar, I guess....

Christina - thanks. Since my Dad sometimes has bad days he likes to have a TV. LAst year in Italy when he had a bad day there wasnt much for him to do.
