Family vacation - Costa Brava and Barcelona - help with hotels
We're planning a 10-day vacation for the family in September of 2010, split between the Costa Brava and Barcelona. While on the coast, we'll have 2 cars, and hope to spend some time touring the countryside, relaxing at the beach/pool, drinking and eating a lot. It would be either 6 or 8 people.
Looking at these hotel possibilities for the first 6 days:
Hotel Aiguablava in Begur
Golf and Beach Resort Apartments in Pals
And then Barcelona Center Hotel in Barcelona for 4 nights.
Any opinions on any of these places would be appreciated. Also, looking for suggestions for excursions - possibilities so far are Girona and Figueres.
Thank you.

The Hotel Aiguablava is fine, but it's not in the village of Begur, but on the coast at Platja de Fornells. I prefer the Parador Aiguablava because of it's location (www.parador.es) across the cove from the Hotel Aiguablava.
The Barcelona Center Hotel is a good choice since it is associated with the Casa Fuster, my second favorite 5-star in the city.
Are you interested in guided tours, or something on your own? If on your own, then you might be interested in reading Maribel's Guide to Barcelona (www.maribelsguides.com).
