FAMILY VACATION, BERLIN.
 

Hi everyone,

We have booked an amazing Europe holiday. Our second stop is Berlin, we arrive on the 1st of August.

We are staying in apartment in the centre of Berlin, in Alexander.

I am travelling with my husband and 3 kids aged 2, 6 and 9. The kids are seasoned travellers.

Can anyone suggest places we must visit?

How silly of me, forgot to mention we are there for 6 days. :)

With kids that age you will definitely want to visit the zoo. Also a couple of the museums with "old stuff" versus art. Watch Stargate with them so they get an idea of ancient middle east and they they may be interested in the Pergamon museum and check a map for a playground nearby for the littler ones. You can google playgrounds near Alexanderplatz Berlin for info.

We were there with our daughter just last year (i.e near Alexanderplatz, but closer to Kreuzberg). We didn't find much in the way of playgrounds in our area but we did enjoy Legoland at Potsdamer Platz. Last year near Alexanderplatz there was also a Barbie (doll) exhibition (the Barbie house), but that wasn't permanent, so won't be open to you now.

Another thing you might think of is a cruise on the Spree. I had also planned a visit to Wannsee but our daughter got sick so we had a few days at home doing laundry and postcards.

The official Berlin TI website has a sub section dedicated to kids or family-friendly activities.
The capital is surprisingly child-friendly, and people take their young ones literally everywhere.
