Family Trip to Vico Equense

Hello. My family and I (2 girls, ages 12 &14) are traveling to the Vico Equense area for three nights this June. This area was recommended by a good friend who stayed there a couple of years back.

I am having a heck of a time finding much information on accommodations in this area (both on Fodors and elsewhere).

Anyone have any positive experiences to share? Thanks.

I looked at some hotels in Vico Equense last year but ended up staying in Sorrento. I can't remember the names but will look through my travel "stuff" and see if I can find them. V E is a little town just outside of Sorrento but it really didn't seem to have much to recommend it. Why did you friend like it?

I found the website for the hotel I was considering last summer. The name is Hotel Oriente. www.hoteloriente.it

My friend liked Vico because it was pretty low key and did not feel like a tourist town - had a fair amount of Italians staying there, is the way he put it.

Although I didn't end up staying there I remember from researching it had good bus/train connections and seemed small and walkable. Post a trip report when you get back. I also found a b & b and an apartment on the venere website. I think you have to click on Amalfi and then when the map pops up click on Amalfi coast area(again) and then you will be able to click on Vico Equense.
