family trip
We are going to Greece in mid March with our teenage kids. I'm trying to fiqure out what places, islands we should visit and hotels to stay in that are resonable and clean. We have 8 days. All I know I want a few days in Athens. Any suggestion?

With only 8 days, and because you're going in March when the weather is still cold and possibly wet, I suggest you stick to Crete, the southernmost Greek Island. You can get there from Athens by ferry or you can fly. There's much to see and do, and renting a car there will not be expensive and will give you the most flexibility and save you the most time when it comes to getting around the island.

I see that you are new here - - how did I know that? click on your own name (this is one of the numerous useful tips that Fodors fails to tell you when they send you that first e-mail confirming your registration) - - we'll assume that you have also did not know to read the "HELP" (little tiny red letters in the upper lefthand corner) - - another oversight that Fodors fails to recommend to you to do.
Anyhow, you owe it to yourself to take a look there: http://www.fodors.com/forums/faqs.cfm - - especially http://www.fodors.com/forums/faqs.cfm#Q6 - - which I have listed below, in excerpt form, for you (my own emphasis added): ========================= Finally, create a title - make sure it is concise and clearly describes your message (<b>and destination</b>, if applicable) -- and write your message in the space provided ========================== Thus, when you re-post - - and you really <b>should</b> do that - - be sure and mention <b>Greece</b> in your message header. Best wishes, Rex |
TTT Any other help on this subject? How long a ferry ride is it to Crete and what is of interest there? Weather in mid-March?
Thanks. |
Centex: It is usually fine to tack a new question to an existing thread. However - the thread you chose has a truly useless title. You will be much, <b>much</b> better off to start a new thread asking what you want to know.
