Family Trip

My family (11 of us) will be traveling to Germany in July for two weeks. We want to stay out of the big cities and and hotel chains, if possible. Can anyone recommend a book (guide) to the independent hotels and guesthouses? The publication does not have to be in English. Please include where I may be able to purchase.

Have you contacted Germany's Department of National Tourism in New York City? Just received a package from it and this information was included.

Leslie's suggestion is certainly right on target.

I'd suggest taking a look at www.karenbrown.com also.

Best wishes,

Rex

If you have your itinerary planned, you can check this website:

www.reisen-mit-preisen.de/
and enter the name of any town or village in which you plan to stay. You'll get a listing of hotels, gasthausen and pensions with contacts, prices and amenities. The site offers to ability to check for room availability as well. That room check is invariably unreliable; contact the inns directly for accurate info.
