Family travel to Lisbon (inc. baby)

Hello,

I´m going to europe in november, I have a connecting flight in Lisbon and the possibility to stay 2-3 days before next connection; its me, my wife and 2yr baby.

¿Which would be the safest area to stay?

¿Where I should´t go?

¿Any particular recomendations?

I´m considering to stay close to Praça do Comércio, but found both good comments ans security concerns in other forum discussions, but most of them seem to be old posts, but Im open to the safest possible place.

Thank you for your help!!!

Not knowing your budget, you might consider staying in the Chiado or Bairro Alto. The Chiado is a shopping and residential area, the Bairro Alto is full of shops and restaurants.

Praça do Comércio sounds good. Rua Augusta (pedestrian) either. Any place in Baixa (downtown) is very convenient with easy access to the transport network.

A quick note: I should have said area instead of place

My question is not regarding an specific hotel or apartment, but an area, so I can look for an appropiate pace once I have decided the area...

Lisbon
is extremely hilly....
lobo's suggestion is perfect. Baixa is a fine location.
