Family of Four Itinerary Ideas
 

Hello,
We are a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids age 10). We are planning a "last minute" trip to Croatia. My husband is of Croatian heritage and wants to check out his "roots". We will be taking a ferry from Bari August 4th. I know this is not a great time to travel, but is the only time we have. We plan to stay in Dubrovnik for a week and are hoping to find an apartment. After that, we hope to check out some islands. We will be in Croatia for about 14 days. Any suggestions regarding accommodations, travel etc. would be greatly appreciated.

I have read some of the Croatia threads and am about to check out Atlas travel.

last summer i met a man who had just returned from croatia with his family, with children....they too rented an apartment and all had just a fabulous time, plus it was very cheap...you too will have a blast...

you can get help with an apratment on this web site if you craft your heading properly...name the place and ask for apt help

You might get better response if you post a new thread with Croatia in the title. Croatia is a fairly specialized destination and most people will not know much about it. If you want folks who do to read your question, they need to see it in the Title

And you might want to check out Lonely Planet, the Thorn Tree forums. Search on 'Croatia' and you'll find more travellers' information than here. Good luck!

Frommers page at MSNBC.com had a great article on Croatia today (5/22) that you may want to check out. Made me want to plan a trip to this apparent gem.

www.adriatica.net might be helpfull.
They provide accomodation mostly in private rooms, but also in certain hotels and lighthouses too!
