Family of 4 in Madrid
Started planning for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids -- 6 and 9) in Madrid in March for 7 days.
1) Hotels: Current list seems to have been narrowed down to 5. Yes, these are in different areas. Not too particular which neighborhood as well as easy for reaching places (walking, public transport), safe, etc. All are around $200/night.
Current list:
- <!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placementame-cell;}-->Dear Hotel
- ICON Wipton
- <!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placementame-cell;}-->Artrip
- ApartoSuites Jardines de Sabatini
- <!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placementame-cell;}-->Petit Palace Lealtad
Any particular reason to choose/not choose any of these?
2) Itinerary: Just starting to plan. We arrive and leave on a Sunday:
- Sunday: Arrive mid-day. Maybe catch one of the free museums in the evening (art museums are fine with the kids in short time snippets. So the free hours are perfect)
- Monday-Saturday:
- Thinking one day for a Toledo day trip and one day for a Segovia day trip.
- Kids are excited to do the zoo.
- Leaves ~3 days to spend in the city itself (whole family loves the food markets, probably visit the palace as well).
