Family Hiking Trip to Slovenia

We have two boys, 9 & 11, and are planning to go to Slovenia in late August to do some hiking. We're looking for some suggestions for towns in or around Triglav NP that would be a good base for us for about 5 days (we're looking to stay indoors at a self catering accommodation). I looked at Bled initially but it sounds like it's pretty touristy. Any other suggestions or feedback on why Bled would make a good base are appreciated!

Bohinj is a better base as you wouldn't need further transport to the trailheads if you were to stay in a village close to Lake Bohinj. Staying in Bled would require a rental car to reach the Pokljuka plateau or a bus ride to Bohinj to do hikes in Triglav NP.

You could also combine Bohinj with a couple of days in Kranjska Gora or the Soca Valley, allowing you to explore the northern and western parts of the national park, respectively.

Thanks for the quick reply, and I'll check out Bohinj. Appreciate it!
