Family Friendly Hotel Amalfi Coast

Planning on spending a couple days on the Amalfi coast. We are a family of 5, anyone have any good suggestions for a family friendly, afforadable hotel?

It would help to know what "affordable" means per night and if you are thinking of getting one room (probably not possible) or a double and a triple. An apartment might work better for your family. It is possible to do a short term rental. You may want to check out the SlowTrav website for apartment suggestions.

We have just returned from staying at Residence Alcione in a small apartment. The views are spectacular and the location is excellent. The cost in high season for two people was 140 Euros a night. Have a look at their website www.alcioneresidence.com. They appear to have apartments that would accommodate 5 people. We were absolutely delighted with our choice and would return in a heartbeat. If you do book be sure to opt for the 5 Euro per person breakfast which is served on your own private terrace and is easily the best value in Positano.

Hi J,

Mind telling us when you will be going, and how much you are planning to spend?

It would also help to know the ages of the children and what you hope to do while you're there (see the major sights or just relax and perhaps explore the nearest town).

We're hoping to spend in the 200 euros range, kids are 18, 16 and 8. Only thing on the agenda is a trip to pompei, mostly want to just hang out and hopefully find a beach to do some swimming and tanning.

It's hard to find a room that sleeps 5, but if you want 2 separate rooms it won't be too hard I've had luck before with www.italiancollection.com, and they do have a variety of lovely options in many price ranges all over the country. Worth a look!
