Hi Caitlin,

Just recently, I went through Brittany and can heavily advise that the favs were Dinan, St Malo and Pont Aven. I also have a english-speaking french friend who is involved in tours through Brittany. Her email is [email protected] if you'd like to contact her. Don't forget to try the crepes and definitely the calvados! Also, if you are interested in touring the south of France (from 7th to 12th April), please contact me as I am going there "seulement"!!!!! :(

There are so many lovely places, really the world's your oyster-and don't forget the oysters.

Personally I love the far west- St Guenole and Penmarc'h

Caitlin- You will be in one of the most charming regions in France. I 2nd what Jeremy said- St.Malo and Dinan are very quaint and picturesque. St. Servan is a small village next to St.Malo. Should be able to find reasonable accomodations. If you have time, you're less than an hour from Mont St. Michel, which sits at the border of Brittany and Normandie- an absolute must-see! Pierre

I holidayed for years in Carnac, on the south coast of Brittany, and thought it was wonderful. Fantastic and varied beaches. There's also some standing stones just inland. Have a fruit de mer for me!

If you do go to Carnac, stay at a campsite called La Grand Metarie (sp?). It's the best campsite in the area and has woods, a lake, about 3 swimming pools and each tent has it's own area bordered by shrubs and trees. You can take you own tent or hire a large permanent one (or caravan). There are loads of student age people who stay there, camping in groups.
