Fall Colors in Tyrol, Austria
 
Hello all!

Does anyone know when fall colors tend to peak in the Tyrol region of Austria (areas like Lech, St. Anton, etc.)?

We were in the Achensee region the latter half of September 2007. While there was some color, I think it was even better in October per some other Fodorites who were traveling in that region after we returned home.

With alpine reions you find many trees of the pine variety and thus perhaps due to this less color than you might find elewhere. This would apply to Lech etc.
Many Larch trees can be found some places that usually turn a good yellow color and at lower altitudes some hard woods with good colors .
October probably the best month.
