Corporate Travel News Bulletin Thursday, September 13, 2001 FAA Releases a List of U.S. Airports That Have Met Security Requirements The Federal Aviation Administration is working with airport operators and air carriers to ensure that the new stringent security measures are being applied in preparation for the reopening of the U.S. air transportation system. The following list of US airports has been determined to meet current aviation security requirements, as established by the Federal Aviation Administration. Passengers are urged to check with their air carriers regarding the level of service and flight schedules at these airports. Also, allow for sufficient time to deal with the new heightened security procedures. This listing will be updated on a continuous basis. Airports are opening but not all airlines are being allowed to fly at once. Our airport is open for USAIR and TWA only for example. Be sure to check with your carrier before going.

Thanks for the list Leslie. Interestingly enough ORD/O'Hare isn't on the list yet. Not surprised though.

I'm not surprised that Boston was not on that list. I'm sure it's going to be one of the last added. I can only hope that it will happen sometime tomorrow. My flight to Germany leaves on Saturday. I'll be happy enough with Sunday or Monday though....

Recent word here in Boston is that Logan Airport most likely will not reopen until Monday, as the airport is still under investigation as a crime scene. Also, cars are still being inventoried and towed from Terminal B to Suffolk Downs (approximately 2500 cars to be relocated) as new FAA regulations forbid parking within 300 yards of a terminal. Cars parked in Central Parking are being relocated to another location in Central Parking.

Sam, Because of the abundance of travelers in my office, we have a travel agency on-site and information has been flowing by the hour (hence my posts). Secondly, people in my office have a lot of close political connections, including those at Massport. Lastly, my best friend is a sales manager with one of the airlines.
