Extremely location specific Amsterdam hotel rquirements!

Hello,

My boyfriend is travelling for a work "offsite" (aka excuse for a party) to Amsterdam in June (21-24). I am planning on joining him there. However, since he would be sharing a room with a colleague, I will need to make my own lodging arrangements. I would like the place to be as close to his hotel as possible, so that we/he can attend office functions easily and head to our hotel conveniently (and late at night).

His hotel is not finalised yet, but it will be one of these three:

Double Tree by Hilton Hotel
Oosterdokseiland 4 1011 DK Amsterdam

NH Barbizon Palace Prins
Hendrikkade 59-72 1012 AD Amsterdam

Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam
Damrak 1-5 1012 LG Amsterdam

I can see that these are pretty pricey and touristy locations which I would not otherwise prefer (I would prefer Vondelpaark or Jordaan). However, does anyone have suggestions for a hotel maybe <15 minutes walking from these places, and fairly affordable - maybe <100 euros a night for 2 people?

Any recommendations would be great!

Thanks!

I have done that - they are all at Damrak by the looks of it. Any hotel suggestions close by?

We stayed across from this hotel in March - it looked cute and Google Maps says it's an 8 minute walk to the Park Plaza. We loved the area.

Thanks, that looks quite nice! Im just quite annoyed because everything is so expensive! I usually prefer to not spend a lot on hotels since im never going to be in the room much anyway!

You might also consider airbnb.com and renting a private room in someone's place since you are basically just looking for a well located place to sleep in some ways.

I Pricelined a 5 star hotel there at a great rate. I believe I bid $86US and got the Park Plaza, but this was last year. If you have never done priceline, check out www.Betterbidding.com for help. Just remember that you cannot cancel so if your plans change, you are out of luck.

See also the Netherlands forum at TripAdvisor. Look for the threads called "Bidding on a ...". You'll see how you can get a 4 or 5 star hotel on PL as per the previous post.

Wow I didn't know something like this even existed! Sounds quite complicated, but I will try to do my research tonight!
