EXTENDED HOLIDAY IN UK
 

Hi

I am from Australia and will be traveling to the UK in July with my husband and am looking to stay for 6 months(holiday visa limit). Does anyone have contacts or information about short term house/apartment rentals in Scotland, Wales and England (want places in the country)?Holiday rentals seem to be very expensive so would like to see if we could rent somewhere for up to 2 months at a time.

Also any advice on buying a cheap car for the time versus car rental?

You might try the website for Sabbatical Homes. I think you'll find longer lets (and more affordable rents) from homeowners there who need to work abroad and are looking for longer-term tenants.

I recently used sabbaticalhomes.com for a place in London but they do have some rentals in Scotland and Wales and elsewhere in England. Look under sabbaticalhomes.com, then the pull-down menu under 'browse' and the top category is 'by country'. You'll see them there.
