Expiration date of Visa/ATM card

My combination Visa/ATM card (Plus, Star, Interlink) expires in February 2001. Will the banks in Great Britain recognize it? I've heard some stories about the card needing an expiration date of no earlier than 2003.

Diane--mine expires in 8/03. I had no problems with it when using it in London and Paris this summer.

Yes, but your cards expires in 2003; mine expires in 2001. I read on the internet that some machines won't accept cards that expire before 2003. I called my bank today and was told that they hadn't heard of anyone traveling in Europe having this problem, so I'll just have to have faith that all will work out. Thanks for answering.
Mine expires in 01/02. I have used it on four trips to Scandinavia and to France in the past year and never had a problem. With a four-digit numerical PIN, you shouldn't have trouble.

I wouldn't worry about it Diane. I used an ATM card that expired in 1999 in Scotland, England and the Netherlands last year.

Think of all the business the ATM would lose if they declined all cards that expire before 2003. :) I suspect that most banks would not want to issue cards with expiration dates too far out (for instance, when my bank issued a replacement for my card that expired in 1999, the new one expires in 2002).

I live in London and my visa card expires end 2000. I've never heard of any problem and have not met a machine or any other outlet that is not more than happy to accept my money.
