Expenses
I'm planning a trip to Prague- Vienna- budapest. How are the prices in those cities. I know Vienna is euro but how expensive is Prague and Budapest?
Thanks! |
"Expensive" is a relative term. Compared to what? Home? Other places you've visited, etc.?
We felt Prague was much like any other city in Europe (except perhaps Switzerland). You can spend as much as you want, but there are reasonable options. Rather than ask how expensive a place is, perhaps you should ask for hotel recommendations within your budget. Which is....? |
Try Tesco, close to Metro stop Narodni trida. Tesco is sorta like WalMart, fairly good prices.

Here's what I spent recently in Prague (all prices in CZK):
dinners - 189 to 500 lunches - 189 - to 275 tram tickets (20 minutes tickets) - 18 water or coke around old town square in a cafe - 50 to 65 bottled water from a vendor - 20 to 35 Prague is still reasonably inexpensive. |
Thanks Adrienne. what I meant by expensive is compared to Paris, Italy, etc. and compare to U.S dollars I want to know how much food, ticktes and regular shopping costs.
|
Admission prices vary greatly. The short ticket to the castle is 250, combo ticket to jewish quarter - 480, churches that charge - 70 to 110, mucha museum - 136, municipal house - 180.
I didn't do any "regular shopping" whatever that means. I assume you mean grocery store staples? I'm not sure what "compare to US dollars" means either. Prices in the Czech Rep are much less than Paris and Italy. And they are far less than where I live. |
Ok, Thanks everyone.
