Existential Paris

I'm going to the Flore and Les Deux Magots, but what else is there to see associated with writers such as Sartre and de Beauvoir? Is there a book or a tour for this?

I believe nothing ! They just sat there and talk about philosophy ;)

Here's a few more places associated with Sartre, de Beauvoir, et al.:

The Cafe des Editeurs always seems more "authentic" to me than Flore and Deux Magots, which are these days primarily tourist draws.

I love the bar at Closeries des Lilas with the brass nameplates in the booths of the "regulars".

Also, L'Hotel, Oscar Wilde's last home. Great cocktail lounge and amazing circular staircase.

You could go to Cimitere Montparnasse. Sartre and de Beauvoir are buried there together.

Thank you, thank you.

My philosophies of life, religion, and politics have nothing in common with theirs, but, somehow, I find them fascinating.

I love the Flore and have a long-time...20-plus year tradition of going there and having a kir royal...casis and champagne. I like to go at night. And now that there's no smoking, for the first time in over 30 years of going to Paris and 20-plus of going to the Flore, I could sit inside of the place. No more sitting out in the cold, drinking my kir or having a meal.

A French friend and I went in at around 11PM...the Thursday before Easter Sunday...and by midnight it was packed and a buzz. Happy Travels!

I forgot to add that the Flore has a gift shop on the side street to it...rue Benoit. I've collected several Flore items throughout the decades...plates,glasses,etc...
I've never been next door to the Deux Magots...kind of strange I guess. Smiles. Happy Travels!
